No Charlie, No

The Dreamer is inside of a luxury hotel.

Then he and his wife are poolside. They are remarking at how refreshing the pool and the steam sauna look. Then they are going to their hotel room. Once the door is cracked open, their dog Charlie busts out of the room. Then the Dreamer is chasing Charlie down the hall yelling “no, Charlie, no”. Then the Dreamer is chasing Charlie down a spiral staircase, running as fast as he can to keep up, but he can’t catch up to Charlie.

Context: My dog Charlie just had surgery and he is not supposed to be running or going up or down stairs, definitely not both!

Associations: I associate a nice indoor pool and steam sauna with the lap of luxury.

Feelings: relief, panic

Interpretation: This is a dream about an attitude toward luxury. The Dreamer’s energy is going towards the luxury that is the pool and sauna, but then he has to spend a lot of energy chasing his dog Charlie. The Dreammaker is suggesting that the Dreamer is spending too much energy chasing the wrong “luxuries” in life. The question is: what is the real luxury?
