Disgust
The Dreamer is outside in an area where he has an immediate neighbor.
The neighbor is outside of his home too. The neighbor says that he has just bought some more land. The Dreamer sees that the land looks out over an area with a few non-descript buildings. Then the neighbor invites the Dreamer inside. Then the Dreamer is inside. The neighbor has a friend there. The Dreamer is there with Bala, his Father in Law, and his Wife. The Father in Law and Wife are on the other side of the wall; Bala and the Dreamer are in the kitchen with the neighbor and his friend. The neighbor’s friend offers them crystalline marijuana, in a loosely packed joint. The Dreamer says “no thank you, I don’t smoke anymore… but that looks good.” Bala accepts the marijuana. The Dreamer is taken aback that Bala has accepted it. Then the Dreamer sees behind the wall and the Father in Law has a large plate of pastries, and is extremely excited for them.
Context: None
Motifs: Marijuana has appeared in a few dreams, unclear if it is in connection with medicine or addiction (maybe both). The Dreamer’s Father in Law Dal has appeared in connection with being more serious, but here he is not serious, but excited. The Dreamer’s Wife has appeared in connection with disapproval of a behavior.
Associations: I associate buildings in my yard as not good: I wouldn’t want that view today, even though I used to have such a view. I associate Bala with a hard working senior employee and thought his partaking in the joint was wrong, even though I used to smoke. I associate my Father in Law with having a bad diet, even though my diet wasn’t always nutritious.
Feelings: disgust
Interpretation: This dream is about the judging function. The Dreamer has too harsh of judgements about personal preferences like where someone lives, how much yard they have, if they smoke marijuana, and if they eat a plate of sweets. The Dreammaker is suggesting that the Dreamer soften the “moral righteousness” of his judgements.
