Naked and Unafraid

The Dreamer is inside an elevator of a luxury hotel headed to the penthouse floor.

Then the dreamer is outside of his hotel room, but naked. He lost his key. Then the Dreamer is walking through the halls naked. Then the Dreamer is in a common area, abutting a subway station. There are poor people there. Then the Dreamer is inside a mobile home or motel with an inter generational living situation. At first the Dreamer has his own motel room then he is with the others. Then there is a flood inside the shared room; a few feet of water. The Dreamer walks through, as if it were no big deal. Then the Dreamer sits down and talks with the family there. Then there is a kitten outside. The Dreamer lets the kitten in the door and gives it attention. Then the Dreamer is looking for his clothes. Then the Dreamer is bench pressing weights inside the motel room. Then someone else took his weights. Then he is eating high carbohydrate foods. Then he is on a work call with his employee Kass. He notices that she has been out late, in a formal dress, and is drunk from the night before.

Context: This is a continuation of the “luxury motif” from Riches to Rags and No Charlie, No. This is also a continuation of a “muscular” motif from The Man Who Always Smiles.

Associations: I associate motels with poverty. I associate Kass with someone who works for me, who I do not consider as someone who would ever get drunk.

Feelings: embarrassment, snobbery, control

Interpretation: This is a dream about an attitude toward wealth. The Dreamer should be embarrassed that he is walking around naked: but he’s not. He should feel something for the people who are living in a flooded motel room with their family, but he does not. The Dreamer has too “muscular” of an ego-perspective about wealth. The Dreammaker is suggesting that the Dreamer should be embarrassed by his attitude, and perhaps be more charitable toward others.
