Rituals of the Moon

The Dreamer is in front of two unknown, adult, men who have spiritual knowledge.

The men ask the Dreamer about his past spiritual affiliations. The Dreamer relays a critique of the initiatory paths with the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and Transcendental Meditation. The men tell the Dreamer not to follow any other path, but instead to perform the “Rituals of the Moon”. They show him a book with an image and golden lettering on the cover, reminiscent of the Red Book or the works of William Blake. They give the Dreamer a passphrase: it’s two obscure alliterative words. They say to use these words when the Dreamer meets his next handlers in the next initiatory grade.

Context: This whole year I had been trying to find a new initiatory organization to join, to focus more on inner work. I applied to OTO, Asatru, Wicca, and Freemasonry, without making successful contact.

Associations: I’ve admired the Red Book and the works of William Blake as something that I’d like to produce, as a life project and a writing project.

Feelings: curiosity, numinousity
