Beach Storm
The Dreamer is outside in a city with his Wife.
They (mainly the Wife) are discussing the details about the buildings in the city. This one with a brutalist concrete facade. This one with a stone foundation. This one with interesting layers. The Dreamer is beginning to tune out. Then the Dreamer is at their car, a green Mini. He sees a shadow at the car door too, looking inside the car window. The Dreamer suspects that they are trying to get inside to steal cash. He kicks the other, hard.
Then the Dreamer is outside in his childhood neighborhood. He runs into a woman: Laura. She invites him inside her house for coffee and political conversation. Then Laura introduces him to her teenage daughter and her daughter’s two teenage friends. Then the Dreamer is alone with the young girls. Then the Dreamer is in the bathroom with one, they are in the bathtub together. Then the Dreamer is with another one, cuddling on the couch. Then the Dreamer is with two in a bed. Then there are more young people there, it is an orgy. Then the Dreamer is rubbing the clitoris of one of the girls.
Then the Dreamer is outside at the beach during the day. He is lying on the sand. Then there is a storm coming. Then big globs of snow fall from the sky. Then bigger clouds gather. The storm is going to be bigger, massive. People scatter. The Dreamer muscles up a beach bench and shields himself.
Context: My vehicle in this dream, the Mini Cooper, is in the shop, getting body work done on it. This dream continues the theme of teenage passions, and also the theme of a storm on the beach, but this time the Dreamer is not inside of a car: he is on the beach, enjoying the calm before the storm.
Associations: I associate my Wife’s love of building materials with a mixture of curiosity and boredom: she loves to talk in detail about building materials and evaluate historical architectural and construction styles. I associate Laura with an older, mature, woman who helped me run for Mayor and who I helped run for County Supervisor.
Feelings: curiosity, aggression, secret passion, fear, action
Interpretation: This is a dream that continues work on the attitude of the feeling function. The Dreamer is invited to witness instances where a mature version of the feeling function is at play: evaluating the beauty of architecture or maturely evaluating political relationships, but instead of engaging in those mature evaluations he is ignoring his Wife, which the dream suggests is harmful, and going behind Laura’s back (regressing to a childish perspective) to fuck her teenage daughter and her friends. The Dreamer is lying, on the beach, to himself that everything is fine about his internal behavior, but there is a big storm coming and the bench is not enough to protect him. He is going to have to face the dangerous facts.
