Upper World

The Fool asked: what is the destiny of the dead in the upper world? How do the spirits of the dead appear in the upper world?

The Wise Old Man showed the Fool the four (energetic) sedimentary layers inhabited by the souls of the dead in the upper world:

Layer 1 — the sound was of a hiss, felt like slime, bright green in color, the smell of sickness, the taste of phlem, the inhabitants were watching
Layer 2 — the sound of grunts, felt like muscles, bright yellow, smelled like sweat, tasted like salt, the inhabitants were sparring
Layer 3 — the sound of silence, felt graceful as a swan, black, smelled like incense, tasted of honey, the inhabitants were preparing ingredients
Layer 4 — the sound of arias, felt cold, pure brightness, smelled of fresh flowers, tasted sharp as the tip of a knife, the inhabitants were inspiring others
