Two Old Men

The Dreamer is inside of a big convenience store, like Buc-ees with an unknown man.

The unknown man is a beef jerky salesman and connoisseur. They’re looking at this huge selection of beef jerky and he’s telling the Dreamer about his favorite flavor. They all look the same to the Dreamer but he’s happy to share the moment. Then the salesman gets a phone call and has to go back to work. The Dreamer selects some jerky that has the meat separate from a packet of flavor.

Then the Dreamer is observing two old men hanging out on a bench. They are using a device: one is listening and one is watching a baseball game. It is such that only one of them can listen or watch at the same time. They both prefer to listen but since only one can listen it creates a dilemma. Then, one of the men decides to sacrifice listening so that the other one can enjoy.

Context: My half-Uncle Christopher introduced me to Buc-ees in 2024, when I visited him and my Grandmother Joyce in Texas.

Associations: I have positive associations with my Uncle and Grandmother. I wish I could spend more time with them.

Feelings: camaraderie
